I usually shy away from most “self-love” quotes. They can feel a little too polished, like they’re trying to sell me a new personality. But this one stuck. There really are whole industries built on us feeling slightly wrong. Not pretty enough, productive enough, thin enough, young enough, accomplished enough. If you’re always reaching, you’re always buying.

It follows the servants in the Bennet household, the people who haul water, scrub mud out of hems, and keep the whole place running while the drawing-room drama plays on. Same world as Pride and Prejudice, but the focus shifts to what it cost to live in that world if you did not have choices.

If you love Austen but also like stories that look under the floorboards, this one is worth your time!

If anyone's looking for #bookrecommendations... THIS! It's my second Liz Moore book I've read (the first being Long Bright River, also good).

Quick summary: A wealthy family’s teen vanishes from an Adirondack summer camp, and the search cracks open old secrets among campers, counselors, and locals. As the timeline shifts, the case turns into a portrait of privilege, silence, and what people will do to keep their stories intact.

To categorize, I'd say upmarket + thriller. Also, do you ever read books where they introduce new characters in each chapter and it's hard to keep track of them and hard to care? This is not that. Liz Moore is amazing at introducing different points of view while making you care about every person's story. So well-written, engaging, and and the mystery at the heart of the story keeps you reading.

I’d like to share some not-so-new books that I loved. I adore this book. The story follows Marian Graves, a daring pilot who claws her way out of early-1900s Montana and spends her life chasing bigger and riskier flights, building toward an attempt to fly around the world near the poles. In a modern thread, actress Hadley Baxter is cast to play Marian and starts pulling at the seams of Marian’s legend, only to find the story doesn’t want to stay neatly on the page. A very unexpected ending too 🙂

Latest book by @mhairimcf did not disappoint! I've been a fan of hers for years. Always has me legit laughing out loud.

Cover Story follows Bel, a podcaster-turned-journalist in a small Manchester newsroom, who is chasing the biggest story of her career. When she runs into Connor, a new intern she can't stand, mid-undercover assignment, she has to improvise fast and pretend he is her boyfriend, which pulls them deeper into both the investigation and each other. I highly recommend!
