I’d had this on my TBR list forever and finally got to it this month. Great premise, great characters, and interesting plot.
SYNOPSIS: Dannie Kohan likes things planned, precise, and predictable. She’s the opposite of her best friend, Bella, the spontaneous, a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants girl who can’t stay in one place for long. Dannie’s life is all planned out: in the same day she’s been offered her dream job and accepted her boyfriend’s marriage proposal, and that night she goes to bed happy.
But the next morning she wakes up five years later in a different apartment, with a different man, with a different ring on her finger. She spends exactly one hour five years in the future, then wakes again in her own home. But no matter how hard she tries to continue with her life’s perfect plan, she can’t get that one hour out of her head.
THOUGHTS: I liked this one. It grabbed me from the start, kept me reading. It was a moving love story, but it’s not the book you think it is, not the story you expect to see play out. I won’t spoil the ending, but I have to say I wish it ended differently. (Anyone who’s read this want to discuss the ending with me? Message me!)
Despite me wishing for a different ending, I loved the relationships between the characters, especially Dannie and her best friend, Bella. It was a good reminder that no matter how meticulous a planner you are, sometimes life has other plans completely out of your control.
Again, if you’ve read this, I’d love to get your opinion on the ending, so send me a message!
